Alver Archtop by Maton - c.1950’s
Lovely old Alver made by Maton from the 1950’s. Condition is well, what can I say here, it's used! It’s had a neck reset and has a great action and plays really well, although it's a bit clunky at the tongue area on the body. Later Maton tuners have been installed too. Big chunky neck feels pretty good too! I like the way they painted the binding around the top of the guitar, this would’ve saved a lot of work in doing real binding. These were a budget issue at the time. Lots of bruises, bumps and checking that add to the charm of this guitar. No case.
